The water here is cool and fresh, coming from deep inside the earth, bringing wisdom and security. A well is like wisdom, the water is there but sometimes you must dig a little deeper. When you find it, though, it’s yours forever. The first thing settlers would do was dig a well for themselves and their cattle. A well is literally a life spring, the only way to stay alive in a land where there are no rivers or lakes.
Isaiah 12:3 (NIV) “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.”
Isaiah 58:11 (NLT) “The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an every-flowing spring.”
