Rain brings nourishment and restoration to dry grass and crops. When the land is dry, plants dry up and droop. They are on their proverbial “last leg”. But when the rain comes again, nutrients are released from the soil, and water is restored to the stems and leaves. They become like new again. Ready to keep growing until they mature into the food that will feed the farmer and us.
Rain truly is a blessing, cleansing, and restoring. It is salvation. Salvation from death! Salvation from lack will occur if the crops don’t get enough water. After a long draught, we might like to dance in the rain and express our gratitude for it.
Isaiah 45:8-10 (The Message) “Open up, heavens, and rain. Clouds, pour out buckets of my goodness! Loosen up, earth, and bloom salvation; sprout right living. I, God, generate all this.”
Ezekiel 34:26 (NASB 1995) “I will make them and the places around My hill a blessing. And I will cause showers to come down in their season; they will be showers of blessing.”
